ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY & PATHOLOGY
This course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the structure and workings of the human body and the effects of common diseases and conditions.

After the end of the course students will be eligible to take a written examination leading to the Massage Training Institute Diploma in Anatomy physiology and Pathology.

The Massage Training Institute is a national examining body and a professional association specialising in holistic massage. It is a member of the General Council for Massage Therapy and, through this association, is actively involved in the process of setting accreditation standards in this country as required by the government and the EC. Notes will be provided for each day. The recommended course text book is: Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for the Massage Therapist by Su Fox and Darian Pritchard (Corpus Publishing). A book list of other helpful texts will be provided.

The course tutor will be Richard Leadbeater. Richard has worked as a massage practitioner since 1984 and as a teacher since 1989. He is also a senior examiner for the Massage Training Institute and a member of their executive committee. He is a member of the working party setting National Occupational Standards for massage.

Entry requirements
Students must be at least eighteen years of age at the commencement of the course and have an adequate level of written and spoken English.

Dates
The course comprises eight Sundays, approximately one per month to allow time
for home study and preparation of assignments. The days will include learning-experiential exercises, games and group discussions.
